Writing text is not so very different from writing music. Lorre has always loved both. Logically she started translating CD texts for musician colleagues: then writing the texts themselves.
She helped her husband with the English versions of his academic articles. This led to the translation of a Ph.D. thesis by Dr. Ming Govaars-Tjia from Dutch into English: "Dutch education in a colonial society. The Chinese experience in Indonesia 1900-1942." The next step was to work toward a history and creative writing degree at the British Open University, then to follow writing workshops and courses in Florida. She has finished her first novel, is revising her second and has started on the third and fourth. She has written various short stories and personal essays.
