Writing text is not so very different from writing music. Lorre has always loved both. Logically she started translating cover notes for musician colleagues: then writing the notes themselves (for Willem Breuker and of course for her own CD's).
She has also helped her psychologist husband with the English versions of his academic articles. This led to the translation of a Ph.D. thesis by Dr. Ming Govaars-Tjia from Dutch into English for the NWO: "Dutch education in a colonial society. The Chinese experience in Indonesia 1900-1942."
She is now working toward a history and creative writing degree at the British Open University. A dream is to transform her collection of notes, interviews and newspaper articles into a book about the small town of Wildrose in northwestern North Dakota during the early decades of the 20th century.
